Despite the adverse weather we were pleased to also welcome a family to Handsworth Park today, who were planting a tree in memory of loved ones. They came along in the rain….even with their own ‘pink’ spade, and both young and old made short work of digging their own tree pit and planting a very special tree. As you will see, if you follow this link to the album , all ages worked alongside each other, and despite the grim conditions they all managed a smile for the camera!  They are joined in this photograph by the ladies from Handsworth Wood Girls’ Academy who were planting adjacent to them.
