Well done to the ladies from Handsworth Wood Girls’ Academy and staff, for turning out today in extreme weather conditions to plant some beautiful standard trees along one of the park’s avenues.
They were joined on site by the Woodland team, BTFL staff, volunteers, the Parks Manager and a local Councillor, who all braved the rain and wind to make short work of planting 10 new trees.
Handsworth Wood Girls’ Academy pupils have helped plant many of the standard trees in Handsworth Park in an effort to restore the character of its beautiful avenues and create an interesting tree trail. Well done ladies! You will see from our album via this link, just how wet it was!
